Lauren Lazin

The award-winning documentary maker made her feature debut with the biopic Tupac: Resurrection about the murdered rap singer.
A graduate of Smith College, Lazin went on to receive a master's degree in documentary film production from Stanford University in 1985.
She made her directorial debut the same year with The Flapper Story and went on to work for MTV, where she was the driving force behind the series Sex in the 90s.
In 1992, she formed the MTV News and Specials department where she directed and produced the series MTV Rockumentary, which included biopics on The Who, the B-52s and Janet Jackson.
Subsequent work included the popular music series MTV Ultra Sound, Cribs and the Emmy-nominated Uncensored as well as the documentary series True Life.
Outside MTV, she has directed films for the National Organisation for Women as well as the Rolling Stones and The Supremes.
Tupac: Resurrection - her feature debut - premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.
