Walkout

Actor-turned-director Edward James Olmos's compelling LA drama chronicles the little-told story of the Chicano student uprising of 1968. Dissatisfied teenagers staged a mass strike to protest at being treated as second class citizens at East Los Angeles high schools. Alexa Vega plays Paula Crisostomo, an honours student who led the walkout at Lincoln High with inspiration from sympathetic young teacher Sal Castro (Michael Pena).
