The young actor made his feature debut alongside Harry Enfield and Sally Phillips in the children's fantasy Tooth.
The youngster first acted in a production of Prince Vanity of Krakow while at the Montessori School in America.
When the family moved to Britain he landed a part in local productions of Carousel and Noel Coward's Cavalcade in Henley-on-Thames.
Copus then successfully auditioned for the role of Bert opposite Julie Walters in the National Theatre production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons.
Others stage productions include The Full Monty and he also starred in Radio 4's I Am David and an ITV dramatisation of Goodbye Mr Chips with Martin Clunes.
Copus has also starred in the TV soap Holby City.
