Freddie Highmore

Freddie Highmore

Born: June 9 1992
Where: England, UK

The teenage British actor has attracted attention with appearances in two major movies - Finding Neverland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The son of a theatrical agent and an actor, he made his big screen debut aged seven in 1999 playing Helena Bonham Carter's son in the comedy Women Talking Dirty.

""Well, you just sort of think about what the character's thinking, and then you're in the character."

TV work followed with appearances in Happy Birthday Shakespeare and Jack & The Beanstalk (his real dad Edward Highmore played his father).

In 2004, he had a featured role in the movie Two Brothers, a big cat adventure co-starring Guy Pearce and Jean-Claude Dreyfus.

The same year he astonished audiences - and landed an Empire best newcomer award - with his touching portrayal of Peter opposite Johnny Depp's JM Barrie in Finding Neverland.

He also starred alongside Kenneth Branagh and Eddie Izzard in the big screen adaptation of the children's classic Five Children and It.

In 2005, he reteamed with Depp - with whom he shares a birthday - to play Bonham Carter's son for the second time in Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
