This high-school comedy-romance isn't particularly original but has two amiable African-American leads in Nick Cannon and Christina Milian.
Nick plays Alvin, who's great at mechanical engineering but a social disaster.
But when popular rich bitch Paris, all curly locks and lip-gloss, crashes her mother's car, he grabs his chance and offers to fix it for free if she'll pretend to be his date.
The deal is done, Alvin gets a girl, a fashion make-over and becomes one supercool guy.
But of course things go wrong... OK, the story is as thin as paper and the pacing is uneasy, but you can't help liking Cannon's tongue-in-cheek performance.
