Jack Lemmon works up a powerful head of steam as the 1913 real-life state Governor Slaton, who risks his career to re-examine the case of a Jewish New Yorker called Leo Frank, an Atlanta, Georgia, factory boss who's accused of killing Mary Phagan, a 13-year-old worker. Lemmon stirs the blood as his character risks his life to fight prejudice, fear and injustice and discover the horrific facts behind the murder. This overlong, but generally riveting legal drama is a must-see for fans of good acting (look out for Kevin Spacey, Richard Jordan Paul Dooley and Cynthia Nixon) , posh drama, and the late, great Jack Lemmon. FACT; The case was the basis of a 1937 film They Won't Forget, in which Lana Turner made her film debut as the victim.
