A remarkably clear-eyed look at the effects of epilepsy - especially for a TV movie from Disney. It looks at the disease through the eyes of a 16-year-old victim, played by Patrick Dempsey and makes no pretence about the ugliness of a fit. The bulk of the action is taken up with his legal action, demanding the right to undergo a radical operation, against his parents. They are well-played in a concerned, convincing way by Beau Bridges and Karen Valentine. It's a movie that faces up to epilepsy and its effect on human relations in an honest and touching way.
