This low-budget film is something a little different - a cross between a Western and a horror movie. Two drifters (James Earl Jones and Brad Dourif) who meet in the desert tell each other weird tales around the campfire... Using the portmanteau format in a Western context is certainly different and full marks go to writer/director Wayne Coe for pulling it off. Performances are good, too, with Jones in particular keeping us enthralled as one of the storytellers. A pity about the ending, which is unworthy of most of the rest.
