Although this drama could be retitled 'Dead Woman Walking', it sadly doesn't have the power and impact that Dead Man Walking had.
This is a pity, as star Sharon Stone, playing an inmate who has been on death row for 12 years after being found guilty of the murder of a schoolmate and her boyfriend, gives her part everything the script will allow.
The bland Rob Morrow plays the new kid on the state clemency board who tries to commute her sentence.
There should be a slow build-up of tension in a drama like this but it doesn't happen.
The aforementioned lacklustre script and the usually reliable Bruce Beresford's journeyman direction are to blame.
