Michael York, Oliver Reed, Richard Chamberlain and Frank Finlay all return for more swash and buckle in this fun sequel to the Musketeers stories, an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's Twenty Years After. As an action yarn it works quite well but as a comedy it hardly work at all. Still, Kim Cattrall enjoys herself lustily as the villainous Justine, Geraldine Chaplin is delightful as a feather-headed Queen Anne and Alan Howard's calculating Cromwell steals the acting honours. During the filming, Roy Kinnear tragically died after falling off his horse.
