An outrageous gag-a-minute comedy that's the most successful cinema showcase to date for oversized American comic Rodney Dangerfield. He's the millionaire owner of the Tall and Fat chain of discount clothes stores, who enrols at his son's school as a (very) mature student by greasing the palms of the education authorities. The comedy rarely rises above the belt - "Maybe you can help me straighten out my Longfellow," he tells a blonde student in his English class - but despite the clichéd characters, it's hard not to laugh at some of the humour arising from the ridiculous scenario. Sally Kellerman is particularly good as the hands-on literature teacher who recites Dylan Thomas with breathless perfection and teaches in the same seductive way. Look out for Robert Downey Jr.
