This big-star thriller, strangely, wasn't released in UK cinemas. Perhaps it's because it has a TV feel to it - but that doesn't detract from the power of its storytelling.
The tale unfolds almost as two individual pieces - the first as self-made millionaire Robert Redford is kidnapped by unemployed Willem Dafoe, and marched through the woods to meet the big guns behind the kidnapping; the second as wife Helen Mirren waits with their family and the FBI at home.
There's nothing much new in the story's content, but its execution is delicate and subtle, the film is rich in character detail and it's all beautifully acted.
A quality suspense thriller that should keep most people guessing till the end.
