Nastassja Kinski fails to convince us about this rather thin story about a New York career girl abducted to a rich Arab sheik's harem. Sixty-odd years ago, with Valentino, this idea worked. Today, despite attempts at authenticity (the film was shot in Marrakesh and Quarzazat in the Atlas Mountains), the whole thing stretches credibility too far.
