Another black comedy from Finnish director Aki Kaurismaki, who also made `Hamlet Goes Business'. This is even wilder, combining elements of modern American scattershot comedy with improvisation and a sort of sixth-form surrealism. The Cowboys are an inept Russian pop group from the frozen wastes, trying their luck as playboys of the western world. The jokes, irrelevant inter-titles and running gags flow thick and fast to the end.
