A short-order cook falls for a drab, lonely waitress in a New York diner.

Though they're hopelessly miscast, it's still a pleasure watching Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer working away like mad to sink themselves into their roles in this smooth and tasty entertainment that doesn't have quite enough charm or heart.
