Groundhog Day is a real-life weather-predicting festival that takes place on 2 February every year in the American town of Punxsatawney, Pennsylvania.
Cynical TV weatherman Bill Murray is sent with his producer Andie MacDowell to report on the event and finds himself in a time warp.
For, no matter what he does - rob a bank, insult people, commit suicide - he wakes up at exactly 6.00am on the same morning.
In his best ever role, Murray is perfect and this sweet and funny, if inevitably repetitive, film is full of imagination and hilarious situations. Apparently, Murray was bitten by the groundhog twice during filming.
