The high school hi-jinks are pretty predictable in this TV-pilot comedy. In an early starring role, Michael J Fox is energetic as the young hero who falls for the girl who just happens to be the school bully's steady date. This, as you might imagine, creates all sorts of problems for the vertically-challenged Fox. Bright playing by all the principals offsets the fact that the ground here is very familiar, and the vigorous pace set by director Rod Amateau doesn't give you time to ponder the plot deficiencies. Not a great film, then, but spirited fun nevertheless. ER fans may not recognise a very young and hairy Anthony Edwards as the school bully.
