Luke Wilson
Born: 21 September 1971
Where: Dallas, Texas
One of the successful Wilson brothers (the others are Andrew and Owen), he made his debut in Wes Anderson's Bottle Rocket.
All the siblings grew up with aspirations to act, but it wasn't until his college years that Luke started to take his ambitions seriously.
At Occidental College in Texas, he was also a star of the athletics team but eventually gave up sports after attending his first theatre class.
Meanwhile, his brother Owen was at the University of Texas and decided to make a film with his friend Wes Anderson, in which they also cast Luke.
The low-budget film became Bottle Rocket, which earned rave reviews on the indie circuit, and their next collaboration Rushmore cemented their positions in the world of real movie-making.
Home Fries, opposite Drew Barrymore, was Luke's first high profile role and it was also rumoured that he was romantically involved with his co-star at the time.
The two remain close friends and he took a part in Charlie's Angels and the sequel Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.
He was also romantically linked to Gwyneth Paltrow, his Royal Tenenbaums co-star along with Gene Hackman and Ben Stiller.
Other work has included Old School with Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell and Legally Blonde 2 with Reese Witherspoon. However his most recent film is The Family Stone in which he plays the boyfriend of Sarah Jessica Parker.
Upcoming projects include The Wendell Baker Story.
