The American obsession with good looks goes under the microscope here, but a pretty boring job writer Gregory Goodell and Bruce Seth Green make of it. Fortysomethings Lauren Hutton and Perry King have grown to be drab and frumpy - have these people no friends? - so decide on a rejuvenation course before their planned European jaunt for their 20th anniversary. So, onwards we go through dieting, surgery, transplants, suction, beauticians and exercise machines until they eventually emerge looking like Hutton and King look normally. This is not a good idea; Elizabeth Taylor made a hash of it many years ago in Ash Wednesday, and it fares little better here. Like the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, what these silly people really need is some brains.
