Bridget Fonda
Born: January 27, 1964
Where: Los Angeles, California
Bridget Jane Fonda was born into the third generation of a showbiz family and attended the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University to nurture the talents that were already in her blood.
Granddaughter of Henry, daughter of Peter and niece of Jane, Bridget was a relative late starter. Her film acting debut came at the age of 23 in Franc Roddam's Tristan and Isolde segment of Aria, which featured her nude throughout. Her first high profile role came later that year in You Can't Hurry Love which was followed closely by a memorable sexy dance in Shag and a part in David Hare's Strapless.
Bridget's portrayal of Mandy Rice-Davies in 1989's Scandal was her first starring role, and The Godfather 3 saw her in a small part with Andy Garcia.
In 1992 the flatmate-from-hell drama Single White Female brought her international acclaim and lead to her real breakthrough role which was opposite Nicolas Cage in the romantic comedy/drama It Could Happen To You.
The mid 90s saw Bridget in some likeable but unremarkable films such as Rough Magic and City Hall. In 1997 she was nominated for a supporting actress Emmy Award for her performance as the sister of a man suffering from AIDS complications in In The Gloaming, a TV drama directed by Christopher Reeve.
In the same year Bridget played a drugged up bimbo alongside Samuel L Jackson in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, adapted from Elmore Leonard's novel Rum Punch and the following year she portrayed Bill Paxton's scheming wife in Sam Raimi's A Simple Plan.
Lake Placid and The Breakup at the end of the 90s finished off Brdiget's millennium on a high note and the start of a new one looks equally as promising with Jet Li's Kiss Of The Dragon and Monkeybone.
