Other T

Lauren was married to Jim Carrey for a year and turned down the Courtney Cox role in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
V roles followed including My Two Dads and Picket Fences, before she landed her first leading role in a feature opposite Jason Scott Lee in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

Not wanting to create a scheduling nightmare for Picket Fences, Lauren turned down the Courteney Cox role in Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.

But, when a second chance to work with rising comic star (and future husband) Jim Carrey in the comedy Dumb and Dumber came up, she took it.

By 1996, she was married to Carrey, but their relationship gradually deteriorated, resulting in their divorce in 1998.

In 1999, she formed Hollycould Productions, and took a role alongside Stephen Dorff in Entropy.

Taking a break from the big scrren, Lauren returned to TV playing a plastic surgeon on Chicago Hope, but it wasn't long before she returned to features playing Dennis Quaid's wife in Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday.

She was cast as an aspiring actress in The Last Producer, and appeared in the comedy What Women Want alongside Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt.
