Murkily shot in the dreaded Colour by De Luxe, this is a revenge western in which Burt Lancaster's stoical Valdez takes a mighty long time in arriving to get his own back on those who humiliated him. The cast includes early roles for Jon Cypher (Chief Daniels from Hill Street Blues, Hector Elizondo (most recently seen as the hotel manager in Pretty Woman and Richard Jordan. In a minor part you may spot Roberta Haynes, who 18 years earlier had been Gary Cooper's leading lady in Return to Paradise.
