'To get to the fruit of the tree, you have to go out on a limb,' Shirley MacLaine's motto which runs through this TV version of her autobiography. The book told of MacLaine's affair with a succesful British MP but lobby correspondents will be hard put to find any MPs who match up to Charles Dance. The story also tells of the star's fascination with matters beyond science - astral projection, metaphysical experience and other mysteries. Conveniently, Shirley's experiences - sensual and spiritual - take place in some very exotic locations - Hong Kong, Hawaii and the Andes.
