Laurie Holden

More renowned for her TV appearances, Holden was five when her parents divorced and her mother married director Michael Anderson.

She then split her time between L.A. and Toronto, Canada.

As a teenager she won the "Look of the Year" modelling contest in Toronto.

Holden went to Montreal's McGill University and studied economics and political science, then transferred to UCLA to study in film and theatre.

Holden is perhaps best known for her roles as Marita Covarrubias on The X-Files and as Mary Travis on The Magnificent Seven.

Her film debut came with Separate Vacations in 1986, directed by step-father Anderson.

She continued to concentrate more on TV roles, appearing every now and again in features like Jim Carrey's The Majestic and most recently the comedy Meet Market.
