A zany, offbeat romantic comedy that launched Madonna as a movie star, coming off a treat simply by playing more or less herself. Rosanna Arquette is the film's real star, however, as a bored yuppie housewife who stumbles on to drifter Madonna's racy life through a series of personal ads placed by an ex-boyfriend. Concocted as a feminist farce, the film runs along hilarious screwball comedy lines, complete with amnesia, switched identities and gun-toting gangsters.
