Another frantic comedy from Norman Wisdom. He plays road-mender Norman Pitkin, who is accidentally parachuted behind enemy lines in 1943 with his tetchy boss (Edward Chapman). Norman turns out to be the double of a German general, who he impersonates. After singing an operatic aria with Hattie Jacques in the funniest scene in the film, he avoids a firing squad, rescues his friends and becomes a war hero.
