Jeff Chandler is well cast as an aloof World War Two naval captain trying to weld his raw crew into a fighting unit. But, with its uninspired direction, this South Pacific-set adventure is much like any other assembly-line action film of the Fifties. You'll have to keep your eyes peeled to spot Clint Eastwood, as a medical orderly towards the end of the film.
