Bob (Bill Murray) is a walking nightmare who has a phobia about touching things and going places, and thinks his bladder is about to explode.
Leo (Richard Dreyfuss) is a pious shrink wallowing in self-control, self-satisfaction and self-glory who sees all three gradually disintegrate when Bob pursues him to his holiday home by a New Hampshire lake.
The trouble with Bob is not that he's dangerous, just that he won't go away. And the habits that Leo finds so annoying perversely only endear Bob to others, including Leo's family.
Delightfully manic performances from Murray and Dreyfuss keep us happily chuckling towards the climax of this very amusing film.
