A teenage drama with a difference. The excellent John Cusack is the average Joe graduating from high school who falls in love with the lovely school brainbox (Ione Skye) who has an incredibly close relationship with her adoring father. But all is not quite what it seems, and this is what strikes the spark that sets the movie apart from the average teenage romance. That, plus excellent performances - the film is all but stolen by John Mahoney as Skye's dad - and the fact that the story is about people with feet of clay. An uplifting film for teenagers to see, it proves that you can do anything if you think clearly and keep the major relationships in your life intact at the same time.
