Mary Beth Hurt
Born: September 26, 1948
Where: Marshalltown, Iowa
Hurt is best known as a stage actress but she made her film debut as one of three emotionally tormented sisters in Woody Allen's starkly dramatic Interiors in 1978 and followed this up with her first feature lead in Head Over Heels the following year.
More stage and TV work followed, but film roles were scarce for Hurt. She starred in The World According to Garp, and then played Nick Nolte's former wife in Affliction in 1998, but since then has restricted her work mostly to Broadway.
Mary Beth was married to actor William Hurt until they divorced in 1982, and she then remarried director Paul Schrader.
