Catherine Deneuve is quite the sexiest bloodsucker to ever grace the screen in this stylish vampire horror from Tony Scott. Her character has been around since the time of the pharaohs, while her partner in crime, David Bowie, is only 200 years old. But something is wrong with him and all of a sudden he ages drastically. So Deneuve must, once again, begin the search for a new partner and this time she has her eyes on haematologist Susan Sarandon. The story tends towards silliness rather than creating a mood of terror, and the non-stop blood-letting becomes excessive in the extreme yet everything about it looks (and sounds) a million dollars, creating a visual feast of light, colour and shadow.
