Seemingly a fact-based drama, this extraordinary political thriller uses the story of a young boy named Nhadiep (Lesley Fong) who is accused of murdering pre-independence Namibia's Nama farm-owners to examine some of South Africa's many social and political problems. John Hurt and Sean Bean are the journalists who are trying to uncover the truth - the co-opting by local Afrikaaners of Nhadiep's supernatural powers in order to drive the Nama from their lands which can then be snapped up for a song. Particularly topical in view of recent events in Zimbabwe.
