The script helps to raise this cop thriller a little above the pile of similar crime tales. Grim, taciturn Michael Ironside plays Fender, one of two committed cops (the other is played by Christopher Bondy) pitted against a drug lord's gang when a routine burglary call leads him into staking out a suspect - a beautiful blonde. Yes, it's a buddy movie with the usual slam-bang ending to wrap up the case, but there's enough tension on the way to keep the plot under surveillance.
