Uli Edel

Where: Neuenburg am Rhein, Germany.
The director gained attention with the story of a Berlin drug-abuser in the David Bowie soundtracked Christiane F.
The gritty and realistic depiction of adolescent drug addiction won a Montreal Film Festival Award.
He went on to impress with Last Exit To Brooklyn, based on Hubert Selby's novel and starring Jennifer Jason Leigh as well as directing TV series including Twin Peaks and Tales from the Script.
In 1993 he directed Madonna in Body of Evidence and went on to work on a variety of TV work including Tyson and Emmy award- winning Rasputin, featuring Alan of Rickman and Ian McKellen.
In 2000, he directed Little Vampire plus a number of TV productions as well as Sword of Xanten, starring Samuel West and Julian Sands.
