This failed pilot for a private eye series strains a bit too hard to be offbeat but will be of interest to modern-day cinemagoers if only for the stars: Jeff Fahey, of The Lawnmower Man fame, is the rugged, tousle-haired Parker, and the fiery Marisa Tomei, the Oscar-winner from My Cousin Vinny, is his leading lady. Britain's Amanda Pays is in it, too, as a brainy beauty who helps our husky hero solve the murder of his best friend, played by, of all people, David Caruso! Pretty average gumshoe fodder sparked only by its enthusiastic cast.
