A star-strangled bummer. A turkey of Thanksgiving Day proportions, this is a flag-wagging tribute from patriotic MGM boss Lous M Mayer to the ethnic groups who make the various strata of American society. It's not surprising after seeing this waste of talent to learn that Mayer was ousted in a boardroom coup that same year. Ironically, though, the man who replaced him was Dore Schary, who wrote the sentimental screenplay to this glutinous mess.
