An adventure story offering a personality clash between Orson Welles and Curt Jürgens, as well as providing some very attractive and exotic shots of the mysterious Far East. Filmed on location at a cost of half a million pounds, it represented, with mixed success, one of the first attempts by British film-makers to rival the opulent escapism that Hollywood was providing. It picks up towards the end, but the action is too little and too late.
