Complex murder mystery in sunny surburban Californian town, further complicated by the apparent lack of a corpse. A starry cast - Janet Leigh, Julie Harris, Walter Pidgeon - was assembled for this drama which turned out to be a dry run for the popular Dan August police series. Christopher George is Det Lt August here but it was Burt Reynolds who inherited the role in the TV series while the Keenan Wynn and Barry Sullivan parts were taken over by Norman Fell and Richard Anderson.
