Based on a novella by Paul Gallico, this seasonal story about how a group of kidnapping Blackfoot Indians become misty-eyed and docile on hearing the story of the Nativity is a crass affair. Thankfully, Kris Kristofferson and Kim Cattrall, as hostage frontier people, rise above the trite, non-politically correct material, to salvage what they can from the enterprise. But it's a sorry mishmash of ineptly staged fights and hackneyed religious waffle.
