Happy Gilmore

Happy Gilmore is without doubt one of the greatest pieces of cinema ever made... Well, perhaps not, but it's certainly one of the funniest. Adam Sandler's films can be a little bit hit and miss, but this one is a resounding hit.

Happy Gilmore

Ice Hockey player turned golfer, Happy Gilmore, struggles to control his rage so that he can raise the money to save his grandmother's house from repossession.

In his favour is a prodigious drive that leaves the others in his wake, unfortunately that's where Happy's golfing talents end and he turns to Carl Weathers' bizarre but brilliant one-handed golf coach for guidance.

Christopher McDonald nearly steals the show as Shooter McGavin, the PGA big shot who's determined to stop Happy in his tracks but it's Happy who wins over the world of golf.

I'm not really the biggest of film fans, but I stumbled across this film by accident one day, and I believe it to be one of the funniest films I've ever seen. There are quotes that stick with you all the time. I can watch this film any given time and I never watch films more than once, whats the point you know whats going to happen, but with this film, it's a new experience every time. Comedy gold.

This film is the third best golf film in history after Tin Cup and Caddyshack, and ranks just above The Legend of Bagger Vance. I would say it is the thirteenth best sports film overall.
