It's not often something a little different comes along, but this curious drama from Iceland is just that. A young Japanese man is told by his grandfather that the spirits of his parents are restless, so he travels to Iceland, where they died in a freak accident seven years before, to perform the last rites for them. His adventures and misadventures are by turns touching and comic and although the film's pace is rather measured, it remains engrossing. An international cast is headed by Masatoshi Nagase as the Japanese stranger in an unfamiliar northern land. Worth watching.
