Done out of a $70,000 share of a body-strewn heist by his sadistic partner (Gregg Henry) and shot in the back by his own wife (Deborah Kara Unger), minor criminal Mel Gibson hovers between life and death.
Months later he's back - and after his money. But his partner has bought his way back into the Organisation which now protects him.
The subsequent knuckle-breaking action hardly ever stops, but, despite lots of heavy violence, the film manages to keep a light tone.
It's a modern reworking of a far better film made 30 years previously, Point Blank, which starred Lee Marvin.
