Danny Leiner
Born: New York, USA
The director captured the moment with his big screen debut, the gonzo road movie Dude, Where's My Car?
The movie, which followed stoners Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott's search for a mislaid automobile, was an unexpected box office smash.
Leiner made his directorial debut with the award-winning short Time Expired, starring the then unknown John Leguizamo.
Its success led to him writing and directing the independent comedy feature Layin' Low with Edie Falco.
Leiner went on to work on American TV series, including Opposite Sex and The Gilmore Girls before Dude, Where's My Car? in 2000.
In addition to writing and directing, Leiner formed the production company, Sly Dog Films, with writer/producer Matt Tauber.
In 2004, he directed the gross-out teen movie Harold and Kumar Get The Munchies with John Cho and Kal Penn.
