The men from U. N. C. L. E. are up against a gang of bad guys that includes a hatful of veteran movie villains, among them Jack Palance, Allen Jenkins, Jack LaRue, Elisha Cook Jr, 'Slapsie' Maxie Rosenbloom and Eduardo Ciannelli. Robert Vaughn and David McCallum play solely for laughs this time around, though, in a farcical plot about ancient gangsters from the bootleg era coming out of retirement to relive their golden days. Joan Blondell takes the obligatory grapefruit in the face, while Janet Leigh, Letitia Roman and Leo G Carroll round out an extraordinary cast. It sounds more fun, though, than it actually proves to be.
