A pity Alf Kjellin's direction of this strange thriller is so lacking in inspiration, for it's well-cast and the idea behind it all is fascinating. Lloyd Bridges is the scientist who finds difficulty distinguishing reality from fantasy and begins to lose his mind as a bizarre dream about a death sentence seems to be coming true. Janet Leigh looks a different kind of dream as his wife, and heads a good roster of supporting performances from a cast that also includes Carl Betz, Leif Erickson, Don Stroud and Richard Jaeckel. Despite flaws in direction and script, the problem of which of Bridges' worlds is the real one keeps interest buzzing to the very end.
