Stephen Mangan
Born: UK
The actor first attracted attention as Sue Townshend's troubled diarist Adrian Mole in the TV series Adrian Mole: the Cappuccino Years.
He has gone on to receive a cult following as amoral anaesthetist Guy Secretan in Green Wing and DJ-from-hell Alan Partridge's alter-ego Dan Moody.
After studying law at Cambridge University, Mangan studied at RADA but took a year out of acting to tend to his mother, who was dying of cancer.
In 1998, he landed a small role in the romantic comedy The Very Though of You and he also played the "ballet doctor" in the northern drama Billy Elliot.
After Adrian Mole, big screen appearances included the little-seen Chunky Monkey and comedy drama Offending Angels.
He played a bank manager in 2001's Birthday Girl and played Alan Partridge's doppelganger friend with a guilty secret in the Steve Coogan TV series.
Back on the big screen, he appeared as Max Breslauer in the Dutch/German movie SuperTex in 2003.
The following year he starred in Channel 4's Green Wing as well as voicing the animated series Bromwell High.
Recent work includes the role of a callous celebrity comic in the comedy drama Festival.
