The actress is best known to British TV audiences as Susan in the acclaimed comedy drama Teachers.
Big screen appearances have included the gangster thriller Shooters, the drama Before You Go and Festival, a comedy drama about the Edinburgh Fringe.
She began working as a researcher into maternal and child health in Africa before switching to acting.
Cassidy made her small screen debut in 1998 as a policewoman in Killer Net and followed it with the drama Nature Boy.
However, it was not until 2001 when she played the role of Susan Gately in Teachers that she attracted public attention.
She made her big screen debut the following year in Shooters and followed it with minor roles in the features Before You Go and Do I Love You.
Back on the small screen, she starred in the comedy Trevor's World of Sport and the military police drama Red Cap.
Recent big screen work includes the comedy drama Festival, alongside Daniela Nadini and Stephen Mangan.
