Blade

Wesley Snipes stars as the half-human, half-vampire warrior Blade. When his mum was nipped by a bloodsucker during pregnancy, Blade was bestowed with unique gifts. He's going to need them when he faces Stephen Dorff's vampire overlord bent on bringing global destruction. Kris Kristofferson plays Blade's trusty sidekick while former porn star Traci Lords also puts in an appearance as Racquel.

By the magic that is the movies, a popular Marvel Comic character becomes flesh and blood in the shape of Wesley Snipes, as Blade, the immortal warrior with superhuman strength and a vampire's wicked cunning.

This blood-chilling tale about modern day vampires is a flashy, fast-moving special-effects driven action thriller.

A fit and snazzy-looking Snipes has plenty of cutting edge as Blade and an unexpectedly cast Kris Kristofferson scores as his dying mentor.

Weedy Stephen Dorff is no one's idea of the omnipotent vampire overlord bent on leading a secret nation to destroy mankind and giving Blade a hard time, but otherwise this is toothsome fantasy action stuff done with considerable bite.

Arguably the best in the trilogy. It's clear the makers of the film had a clear understanding of the Blade comics. Highly under-rated as a superhero film, this flick oozes style, awesome beats and a dynamite cast. Highly recommended to all Blade fans (of which sadly there are not too many).

Definately the best in the Blade series. Wesley Snipes was perfectly cast as the half human half vampire "Daywalker". This film although rampant with quite primative computer generated effects, possesses a great plot i.e the old good and evil chestnut. Fantastic action as a result of excellent fight choreography and a complete escapism from reality. Definately a film `for a night in with the boys . . . or the girls. They like it too. Dont miss it!

This Fang-tastic movie (excuse the pun) opens with a great fight scene and from there the fights get bloodier and faster. The character of Blade is played well by Snipes, a combination of cool one liners, a pair of shades and some kickin moves. Its true the nemesis in the movie might have been better played by an actor with some more screen presence. But the action and the soundtrack are immense, and Kristofferson is good as Blade's mentor Whistler.
