The original Brat Pack movie features C Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio and Matt Dillon as teens from the wrong side of the tracks trying to keep out of trouble despite a lack of parental guidance.

When a fight between rival gangs, the Soc's and the greasers, ends in tragedy, the boys go on the run.

The abandoned church they are hiding out in goes up in smoke and the boys play heroes by rescuing a group of kids trapped inside.

But young Ralph is fatally injured in the blaze and, after a tear-jerking death scene, the gangs finally agree to disagree and stay out of trouble.

Simplistic West Side Story-ish tale which is bound to draw an audience if only to see so many stars 'before they were famous'.
