A relatively late starter, Pamela was nearly 30 when she began making the casting rounds in New York and L.A.

A classically trained actress, Pamela began her career on the New York stage making her off-Broadway debut in Curse of the Starving Class and working in several New York Shakespeare productions, before appearing on Broadway in 1978 in The November People.

She held down regular roles on three weekly TV series: The Andros Targets, Tanner 88, and Grand, before making her big screen debut playing Belle Starr in Walter Hill's western, The Long Riders.

Supporting roles followed in Philip Kaufman's The Right Stuff, Cadillac Man, and Ivan Reitman's Kindergarten Cop opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Reed was also seen in Tim Robbins' satiric take on American politics Bob Roberts and again co-starred with Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito in Ivan Reitman's medical comedy Junior.

She continued to appear in movies but largely in minor roles in Bean and later alongside Meg Ryan in Proof Of Life.
